Cohen got his wish. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is a globe-trotting, time-traveling epic that spans over 2,100 years and unearths China’s legendary terra-cotta army, some three-headed dragons, and, yes, a mummy, this time played by Jet Li. Filmed half in China, half in Montreal, the movie reunites Brendan Fraser with the franchise that made him an action star. But not with Rachel Weisz, his costar in the last two Mummy movies. Instead, Mummy 3 finds the reluctant hero teaming up with Maria Bello and Australian newcomer Luke Ford, who plays Fraser’s son.

Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O’Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

The Dark Knight

the dark knight, the dark knight movies

Stop what you′re doing. Put down the remote, stop clicking the mouse elsewhere, drop everything and come watch this trailer now! From Batman gearing up again in a new Batsuit, to the Joker, played perfectly by Heath Ledger, to seeing Michael Caine as Alfred again, to Detective Gordon destroying the Bat-symbol skylight. This is going to be one hell of an awesome movie next summer, so fire up this trailer up right now and enjoy!

Most of the stories featured in Legends are set in the early years of Batman’s career, though a few have been set in the present and even the future. Stories set at the beginning of Batman’s career are referred to as taking place during Year One, meaning Bruce Wayne’s first year of crime fighting as Batman. The title had been initially promoted as only doing stories from before Robin, Dick Grayson, the first Robin, did appear in issue 23, though he was still a circus performer. The title was discontinued with issue #214, in January 2007, to make way for a new Batman anthology series, Batman Confidential, which focuses on more personal events in Batman’s life (first encounters, building of new technology etc.), rather than early crime-fighting tales.

If this turns out to be true, it would be disastrous decision on the part of Warner Brothers. It’s entirely unnecessary to cut scenes from a movie just because of a few overly sensitive screening attendees. The countless fans and supporters of The Dark Knight will understand the true vision of the film and the importance of every last scene that Christopher Nolan put in. Apparently the early screening reports also claim that The Dark Knight is a more superior film than Batman Begins and that Ledger’s role is as profound (and even Oscar worthy) as originally thought. Don’t risk screwing that up Warner Brothers!

“Space Chimps” is an intergalactic comedy that highlights the antics of astronaut chimps with the “wrong stuff.” Ham III (Samberg), the slacker grandson of the first chimp blasted into space before manned spaceflight, joins two other astronaut chimps for a dangerous mission through a black hole to an inhabited planet. When they’re stranded there, the chimps must help the inhabitants rid themselves of a tyrannical leader, and then figure out how to get back to Earth.

The hilarious new CGI-animated adventure-comedy follows the adventures of a mischievous circus chimp named Ham (Samberg) who happens to be the grandson of the first primate ever sent into space. As a publicity stunt, Ham is chosen to lead a mission into space to explore a mysterious new planet. But when he and his crew crash land on the bizarre yet beautiful world and find their lives in peril, Ham must prove that he really does have “the right stuff.”

But when Cassidy dug up footage of the U.S. Air Force’s chimp program from the national archives and other sources, he also found press reels celebrating the exploits of the space chimps Ham and Enos. Ham paved the way for the first American to ever fly in space, Alan Shepherd, and Enos flew before just before John Glenn orbited the Earth.

journey to the center of the earth, journey to the center of the earth movies

Adventure games in general tend to be more linear than CRPG’s, and Journey to the Center of the Earth is no exception. It’s impossible to miss the vast majority of this game– if you don’t complete a conversation, finish a quest, or notice a meaningful detail, you generally aren’t allowed to leave the area until you rectify this.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is inspired by Jules Verne’s classic novel of the same name, but if you haven’t read it, don’t worry: The game’s story stands on its own (even if it’s very wobbly on its narrative feet). Taking part in a popular adventure game trend, Journey puts you in the shoes of a young female character, in this case a photojournalist named Ariane. Ariane is poorly fleshed out, though, and certainly won’t make you forget better-written adventure game heroines like Nico Collard, April Ryan, or Kate Walker.

An exciting adventure based on the classic Jules Verne novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D″ stars Brendan Fraser (”Crash,” “The Mummy”) as a science professor whose untraditional hypotheses have made him the laughing stock of the academic community. But on an expedition in Iceland, he and his nephew stumble upon a major discovery that launches them on a thrilling journey deep beneath the Earth’s surface, where they travel through never-before-seen worlds and encounter a variety of unusual creatures. “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D″ is directed by Academy Award-winning visual effects veteran Eric Brevig (”Total Recall,” “Pearl Harbor”) from a screenplay by Michael Weiss and Jennifer Flackett & Mark Levin. The film is a co-venture between New Line Cinema and Walden Media. “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D″ is scheduled for a July 11, 2008 release.

Wanted

Based upon Mark Millar’s explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov — creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the ‘Night Watch′ series — ‘Wanted’ tells the tale of one apathetic nobody’s transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice. In 2008, the world will be introduced to a hero for a new generation: Wesley Gibson.

25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut.

Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).

After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad’s death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.

With wickedly brilliant tutors — including the Fraternity’s enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman) — Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.

The Incredible Hulk

the incredible hulk

The Incredible Hulk is a 2008 film adaptation of the classic Marvel comic of the same name. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier, and stars Edward Norton as both the Hulk (in computer generated form) and his mild mannered alter ego, physicist Bruce Banner.

Of course, The Incredible Hulk is also getting a new feature film this summer, starring Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, William Hurt and Tim Roth. In fact, Robert Downey Jr. even shows up in the new film as “Tony Stark” (the secret identity of Iron Man, in case you didn’t know). That film hits on June 13th, and there are already plans for DVD tie-ins to the film by way of the 3rd and 4th season sets from the classic Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno live-action series. But why should that be the only series to tie in?

The Incredible Hulk is not another origin story: When the movie begins, Bruce Banner (Norton) is already The Hulk. He’s hiding out in Brazil, trying to find a cure for the gamma-ray exposure that turns him into a monster. Before long, his whereabouts are uncovered by Gen. Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt), and the movie turns into an extended chase, as Banner tries to cure himself while eluding Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth), a soldier who turns into the scaly fiend Abomination. The new Hulk film is said to remain truer not only to the comic book but also to the old Lou Ferrigno TV show.

Star(s) to watch : Edward Norton (”Red Dragon”, “Primal Fear”, “Fight Club”) as Bruce Banner/Hulk, &amp Liv Tyler (”The Lord of the Rings”, “Armageddon”) as Betty Ross.

Genre : Action, Adventure, Adaptation, Sequel.

indiana jones, indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull

The man in the hat is back! Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the fourth and most daftly titled Indy movie yet, and all eyes are going to be on whether the once golden partnership between Hollywood heavyweights director Steven Spielberg and producer/writer George Lucas can turn back the clock for Ford to ensure this isn’t a film too far for the much-loved franchise.
