Space Chimps

space chimps, space chimps movies

“Space Chimps” is an intergalactic comedy that highlights the antics of astronaut chimps with the “wrong stuff.” Ham III (Samberg), the slacker grandson of the first chimp blasted into space before manned spaceflight, joins two other astronaut chimps for a dangerous mission through a black hole to an inhabited planet. When they’re stranded there, the chimps must help the inhabitants rid themselves of a tyrannical leader, and then figure out how to get back to Earth.

The hilarious new CGI-animated adventure-comedy follows the adventures of a mischievous circus chimp named Ham (Samberg) who happens to be the grandson of the first primate ever sent into space. As a publicity stunt, Ham is chosen to lead a mission into space to explore a mysterious new planet. But when he and his crew crash land on the bizarre yet beautiful world and find their lives in peril, Ham must prove that he really does have “the right stuff.”

But when Cassidy dug up footage of the U.S. Air Force’s chimp program from the national archives and other sources, he also found press reels celebrating the exploits of the space chimps Ham and Enos. Ham paved the way for the first American to ever fly in space, Alan Shepherd, and Enos flew before just before John Glenn orbited the Earth.

Wall-E

wall-e

Wall-E is shaping up to be a very risky Pixar project. Then word came out that there was very little dialogue amongst the film’s robots. Pixar chief John Lasseter revealed even more risks his latest production is taking.

Also excluded, though a bit more appropriately so, are less-blockbuster comedian comedies like You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, The Love Guru, Meet Dave, Step Brothers, Tropic Thunder and, surprisingly, Hancock, which is the latest in the traditional July 4th-weekend-released sci-fi/action comedies from Will Smith. Is this a sign that people think it looks like Smith’s worst summer movie since Wild Wild West? Or were those moviegoers that were polled even allowed to make selections other than the ten listed?

After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL’E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL’E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL’E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen.

Kung Fu Panda

kung fu panda

Dreamworks Animation has delivered unto the web a brand new clip from their upcoming martial arts film Kung Fu Panda, which stars the voice talents of Jack Black as a lazy panda bear who finds out that he is the chosen one. In this extended sequence, Po (Black) and Master Shifu (voiced by Dustin Hoffman) are in the midst of training when Shifu realizes that the only way to get this panda’s lazy butt in gear is to take away the one thing he loves most: his dumplings.

First up, DreamWorks Animation has posted online the second full trailer for Kung Fu Panda, coming to theaters on June 6. The movie features the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan and Ian McShane. You can check out the new trailer here!

There were a lot of scenes that were only storyboards as well as a few half-finished CGI scenes. Looking beyond those and the need for some more final editing and polishing, the film is a very fun, very entertaining animated kung fu movie. First things first, you’ve got to realize this is just a big popcorn flick.

Ratatouille

ratatouille

“Ratatouille” is the latest from Pixar Animation Studios and the follow-up from director Brad Bird to his well-regarded animated feature “The Incredibles”. The film comes at a time when some audiences are getting a little indifferent towards CGI animated features, simply because - like special effects in live-action pictures - audiences have reached the point where even remarkable visuals don′t impress quite as much as they used to.

Director Brad Bird’s first animated effort, The Iron Giant (1999), was on equal ground with some of Pixar’s finest work. Employing a seamless blend of CG animation and traditional hand-drawn artwork, this touching story of a boy and his fifty-foot tall robot from outer space enjoyed critical acclaimbut flopped at the box office, unfortunately. Still, there was an undeniable stamp of quality and passion on display, enough for audiences to realize that Bird would enjoy future success in animation.

The ratatouille dish prepared by Remy is the alternate variation called confit byaldi. It was adapted by film consultant Thomas Keller. This variation differs much from the conventional ratatouille in terms of preparation and method. The major difference is that the vegetables used are sliced thinly and baked instead of cooking them in the pot.

Enchanted

enchanted

A fairy tale comes to life in this thoroughly original, new Disney Classic. Drawing inspiration from its classic heritage, Disney creates an inspired story unlike any you’ve experienced before. Filled with excitement, fun, and incredible music from the legendary Alan Menken, Enchanted is the ultimate fish-out-of-water adventure. For princess-to-be Giselle, life is a fairy tale - until she’s banished from the animated land of Andalasia and thrust into the very unmagical, live-action world of modern-day Manhattan. When a cynical, no-nonsense divorce lawyer comes to her aid, little does he realize that this joyful, wide-eyed innocent is about to enchant him. Enchanted - the musical comedy that will have your entire family under its spell.

After all their animated fantasies, true-life adventures, inspirational sports stories, and shaggy dogs, the Disney studios finally took the time to spoof themselves a bit. With tongues firmly set in cheek, screenwriter Bill Kelly (”Blast from the Past”) and director Kevin Lima (”Tarzan,” “102 Dalmatians”) set out to turn the Disney image inside out with a partly animated, partly live-action fairy tale that upsets all the conventions of traditional Disney fairy tales. In this regard, it’s a little like the first “Shrek″ movie; if not quite so pointed or caustic, just as amusing. And with the added quality of a really sweet love story thrown in, “Enchanted″ is hard to resist.

And then, it morphs into a live action film set in Manhattan that plays like a Disney animation. Enchanted is a romantic musical comedy, a light-hearted satire and a fantasy, but most of all, it’s a fairytale.

Star(s) to watch : James Marsden (”X-Men”, “Superman Returns”, “Disturbing Behavior”) as Prince Edward, Amy Adams (”Serving Sara”, “Catch Me If You Can”) as Giselle, &amp Patrick Dempsey (”Scream 3?, “Outbreak”) as Robert Phillip.

Genre : Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Animation.

dr. seuss' horton hears a who

The film is based on the beloved book, first published in 1954, by Ted Geisel, who wrote under the pen name Dr. Seuss. “Horton Hears a Who” is about an imaginative elephant who hears a cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Suspecting there may be life on that speck and despite a surrounding community which thinks he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to help.

The two comedy superstars will headline the cast of voices for Dr. Seuss’ HORTON HEARS A WHO, a new CG animated feature film from 20th Century Fox Animation, the makers of the “Ice Age” films. Carrey, who previously inhabited the world of Dr. Seuss as the title character in the smash hit “The Grinch,” will voice the role of the immortal Horton, the elephant who knows that a person’s a person, no matter how small. Carell will voice the Mayor of Who-ville, a distinguished figure of a very small size, too small to be seen by the elephant’s eyes.

Otherwise, animation is clear and arresting’the elephant Horton (Jim Carrey’s voice) takes a swim to fine effect’and it’s nicely narrated in rhyme by CBS News journalist Charles Osgood (his narration should have been more prominent). The story begins when Horton hears one of these Dr. Seuss creatures called a Who and the balance of a benevolent universe is knocked slightly off kilter. Horton aims to restore Who order.
