Kung Fu Dunk is a Chinese live-action film released in February 2008. The film is inspired by the Slam Dunk manga and anime series, and was previously titled Slam Dunk. It was filmed in Taiwan and Mainland China.

“Kung Fu Dunk,” starring Jay Chou as a kung-fu master and basketball player, opened in theaters on February 7[.] “There is much uncertainty deliberately left in the story, making space for further exploration,” Chu says. The director says a solid plot for the sequel is yet to be shaped, but he hopes to have onboard some basketball stars this time. NBA players Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian are on his list.

Here’s your first look at the Jay Chou sports/comedy/special effects extravaganza “Kung Fu Dunk” (aka “Slam Dunk”). It’s really just a teaser, with a quick 30-second look at Chou in a hoodie dunking. The film is based on the comics (or manga) by Takehiko Inoue and stars Taiwanese mega pop star Chou and Charlene Choi.
