10,000 B.C.

BC is a 2008 American film from Warner Bros. Pictures set in the prehistoric era directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Steven Strait and Camilla Belle. The World Premiere of the movie was held on February 10, 2008 at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.

Anyone who thinks they don′t make ‘em like they used to will be glad to discover “10,000 B[.]C[.]” The movie, from director Roland Emmerich (”Independence Day,” “Godzilla,” “The Day After Tomorrow”), isn′t trying for the realism of “Quest for Fire,” the 1981 drama that’s still the Cro-Magnon opus to beat. Emmerich just wants to make a simple, old-style adventure about the power of myth and pelt-wearing homo sapiens in love.

The pundits say 10,000 B.C. doesn′t lack for compelling visuals, but it’s weak on plot and characterization and filled with unintentional comedy. At 12 percent on the Tomatometer, 10,000 B.C. is a Mesolithic mess. It’s also the worst-reviewed film of Emmerich’s career.
